Chinese New Year is arguably one of the most significant holidays around the region. This year, we celebrate the festive together with a lion dance performance in the office. The lion dance is performed to bring prosperity and good luck for the upcoming year, as it is believed that the lion is an auspicious animal.
The CNY celebrations will not complete without get-together reunion meal. During the company lunch, we tossed the “Yee Sang” or the Prosperity Salad too. Tossing “Yee Sang” is a mandatory Chinese activity that involves mixing and tossing of various ingredients and shouting prosperity phrases for auspiciousness. It is a fun and unique activity that commonly enjoyed by many companies throughout Malaysia and Singapore and is also a great employee engagement initiative for colleagues to come together and reconnect in a less formal setting.
